About Akademi Maritim Sultan Ahmad Shah
Akademi Maritim Sultan Ahmad Shah (AMSAS) was established to fulfill the Agency’s functions and powers in accordance with the stipulated law, which involves establishing and managing maritime institutions for the training of agency officers. AMSAS has been providing training to Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) staff since April 2005, initially in a residential building block for trainees on loan from the Royal Malaysian Navy (RLDM) Lumut. On July 24, 2007, PPL APMM relocated to Bandar Indera Mahkota, Kuantan.
Subsequently, on August 1, 2011, PPL APMM moved from a temporary building in Bandar Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, to AMSAS, Gebeng. The newly constructed PPL APMM is capable of accommodating and training more APMM citizens, complemented by its strategic location. On March 2, 2013, AMSAS was inaugurated by KDYMM Sultan Pahang, and PPL APMM was rebranded as Akademi Maritim Sultan Ahmad Shah (AMSAS). Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, AMSAS is capable of offering basic courses for new APMM staff and advanced courses, including maritime training in the region in the future.
