About ICCTE 2023 Tourism Awards
The ICCTE 2023 Tourism Awards marked a significant collaboration between Malaysia and China, showcasing their joint efforts in cultural and economic development. Organized by the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association and the Foreign Affairs Office of Heilongjiang Province, China, the two-day International Conference on Cultural Tourism and Education saw participation from 17 universities, over 30 corporates, and organizations from Pahang and Selangor states in Malaysia, along with Heilongjiang Province in China. The event fostered summit dialogues, cultural tourism cooperation discussions, and educational exchanges, resulting in productive collaborations and the presentation of thirty tourism awards across three categories. The Deputy Secretary General (Culture) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mohd Yusri bin Mohd Yusoff, witnessed the exchange and cooperation between the two states, emphasizing the significance of such partnerships. Speeches by key officials highlighted the importance of digital platforms in promoting tourism, with initiatives like “Visit Malaysia 2025” aiming to boost the nation’s tourism industry. The conference served as a platform to strengthen the China-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, emphasizing cooperation and contributions to building a closer China-ASEAN community. The ICCTE 2023 Tourism Awards aimed to recognize outstanding achievements in green and cultural tourism, as well as contributions to tourism education. Supported by various government bodies and organizations, including Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Pahang, Tourism Selangor, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Heilongjiang Province, the event underscored the commitment to furthering cultural and tourism cooperation between Malaysia and China, sponsored by ECI Higher Education Sdn Bhd.
