About Pangkalan TLDM Lumut
Pangkalan TLDM Lumut, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is the primary base of the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM). Established to strengthen maritime defense, the base is crucial for safeguarding national waters and regional security.
The base’s construction was completed in phases by the early 1980s. By the end of 1980, the Royal Malaysian Navy Training Center (KD PELANDOK) and six TLDM ships moved from the Woodlands Naval Base in Singapore to Lumut. In 1981, the Fleet Command Headquarters (Markas Panglima Armada TLDM), the Fleet Material Command Headquarters (Markas Panglima Material Armada), and KD MALAYA also relocated to Lumut.
Equipped with advanced facilities, Lumut Naval Base hosts various naval vessels and specialized training units. It significantly contributes to local economic growth, providing employment and fostering strong community relations.
Pangkalan TLDM Lumut exemplifies Malaysia’s commitment to a robust, modern navy dedicated to protecting national maritime interests and promoting regional stability.
