The Simposium Reformasi Pengurusan Sisa Lestari Tahun 2025 gathered over 600 participants, including officials, industry leaders, and global experts. Hosted at Institut Latihan Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (I-KPKT) in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, the event focused on urgent waste management reforms in Malaysia.
First, the symposium promoted a move away from traditional linear waste disposal. Instead, it emphasized resource recovery methods to cut landfill reliance. These models encourage recycling and support Malaysia’s push toward a circular economy.
Furthermore, the program explored clean technologies and smart automation to improve system efficiency. For example, discussions featured artificial intelligence for waste sorting and smart baling systems. Many also discussed waste-to-energy options that convert trash into valuable resources.
In line with global standards, the event supported Malaysia’s Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 11 and 12. Additionally, it highlighted the role of communities in driving change. Stronger public engagement can reduce waste at its source and support long-term success.
By the end, participants agreed on clear goals. These include cutting landfill waste by 15% by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Without doubt, the symposium built a solid path toward greener waste practices in Malaysia.
Big Screen Media was beyond grateful to be given the opportunity to set up LED Screen Gimmick cube and 3 units of the P2.5 Indoor LED Screen, which has a screen size of 5 meters (W) x 3 meters (H) and 4.5 meters (W) x 2.5 meters (H) x 2 units for Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan at I-KPKT, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. This was part of the support team’s efforts in providing LED screen rental services for the Simposium Reformasi Pengurusan Sisa Lestari Tahun 2025.
