Toray Plastics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, situated in the Prai Free Industrial Zone in Penang, Malaysia. We are the South East Asia’s largest producer of ABS resin, manufactures high quality ABS resin under the brand name of TOYOLAC®. The company is a subsidiary of Toray Industries, Inc. – the world’s leading manufacturer of synthetic fibres and textiles, high performance films and engineering plastics.

Company Background :
The story begins way back on the 3rd July, 1990, with a crucial decision by Toray Industries Inc., Japan to set up an overseas ABS polymerization facility outside Japan in this Pearl of Orient, Penang, Malaysia, and Toray Plastics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was born. With the humble beginning of one polymerization line successfully commenced in early 1992 with the capacity of 35,000 metric tons, today, Toray Plastics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has emerged with production capacity of 350,000 metric tons of general purpose and transparent ABS resins.
In addition, there are compounding capacity of 40,000 metric tons for production of high value-added specialty grades ABS resins. Both state-of-the-art polymerization and compounding processes were supported by a fully equipped research and development team that established since 2003. The R & D at the Toray Plastics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd’s Technology Centre focused on conceptualizing and creating new products that will capitalize on both polymerization and compounding facilities and technologies, and committed to strengthening technical support capabilities.
