About Kolej Tunku Kurshiah
Kolej Tunku Kurshiah, originally known as Maktab Perempuan Melayu, was established in 1939. Initially proposed by Yang Berbahagia Dato Sheikh Ahmad Al-Haj bin Sheikh Mustapha, the school aimed to provide education to the daughters of monarchs. It was officially opened as the Malay Girls College on October 15, 1947, by Lady Gent, the wife of the Governor of Malayan Union.
In 1962, the college moved to a new location in Bukit Merbah, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, and was renamed in honor of the first Raja Permaisuri Agong of Negeri Sembilan, Tunku Puan Besar Hajah Kurshiah Binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin. This relocation was formalized on May 24, 1963.
Throughout the years, Kolej Tunku Kurshiah has adapted to enhance its educational offerings. In 2013, the college moved to its current location in Bandar Enstek, Nilai, featuring modern facilities and accommodating 750 students, including 100 International Baccalaureate students.
In 2016, Kolej Tunku Kurshiah received recognition from the IB World School, implementing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). It was also recognized as a Smart School, a High-Performance School, a School of Global Excellence (SGE), a Trust School, and an Apple Distinguished School (ADS).
Today, Kolej Tunku Kurshiah continues to uphold its legacy of excellence, providing a comprehensive and enriching learning environment for its students.
